Isaiah Affron, Yale University

Isaiah "Si" Affron is a sophomore at Yale University majoring in Humanities, and is very interested in art, architecture and urbanism. In his major, he studies art, literature, philosophy, and more.

Starting in elementary school, he began to discover the world of art and museums with his father, who was a professor of art history. He became interested in art, especially modern art, and grew to appreciate the experience of learning through museums. He considers the museums of New York, especially the Metropolitan, to be among his favorites.

In college, Si has focused in philosophy, but has continued to pursue his interests in art and architecture, and has taken multiple courses in Yale's School of Architecture in the history of architecture and the history of urbanism and urban design. Through these courses, he has also been exposed to some of the canonical philosophies of aesthetics, and has become interested in the intersection of philosophy, literature and art in the 20th century. Finally, he is also interested in urban history, especially the history of New York City, and has studied the the urban landscape of the city in his courses.

Si has no idea what his future ambitions are yet, but would like to make the world of art and architecture part of his life in some capacity.
